Many children living in extreme poverty do not have enough to survive. They often suffer from malnutrition or undernourishment and live in undignified conditions. They are severely neglected and the violence of adults, often close caregivers, is part of their everyday lives. They have no access to medical care. They cannot go to school, which denies them the opportunity to work and lead a self-determined life. They are exploited, trafficked and sold. They end up in prostitution or work on plantations or in quarries.
